It's a black Saturday in Akungba as dangote trailer loaded with cements enters into a shop as a result of failed break beside the school main gate. Many motorcycles and pedestrians are involved in this calamity.
It saddens the heart as another fatal accident happens in akungba akoko after few days of resumption.
A lot of students died and some market sellers beside are also involved in the accident. People selling nose mask beside the school gate are also included.
The accident claims some lives as it is reported that thirteen died and some injured were rushed to the hospital. Some passer-by students and some charging phones were also involved.
It can be said that this so called dangote trailer has been causing a lot of accident in Akungba Akoko for some times. After some accidents had happened in the town market (Ibaka market) which made the market to be shifted from its former location to another considered safe place. This movement doesn't stop this catadysm as the accidents still happened (mostly at the school main gate today). The failure of the driver to detect the fault before driving off can be considered as part of the cause of this unfortunate incident.
The broom-like road of akungba akoko is not good enough to be considered as the interstate road, therefore the government has work to do in dualizing the road or find any possible solution for the incessant and this perilous accident. The road ought to be two lanes which can lessen the rate at which accident happens or find another solution to this unfortunate incidence.
Not quite long that one accidents happened by this same dangote trailer which also claims a lot of lives and properties.
The students live are important and the people of Akungba in general, something must be done to this calamity.
We need the support and concern of the government to help protect the people of akungba and the students. Measures should be taken to curb this unremitting and perilous accident.
